There’s something about award season in Hollywood that has so many of us locked into our living rooms watching the red carpet and award ceremony in awe. Maybe it’s the fact that all our favorite celebs gather together and are all decked out in designer gowns and have their glam all done by some of the best glam squads in the world. It’s like we get to witness real life Cinderella’s walk across a glamorous red carpet. The Golden Globes always bring out some amazing looks, so we thought it would be fun to go back in time a bit and share some of the best Golden Globe looks of all time.
In 2004 Charlize stepped onto the red carpet at the Golden Globes wearing a STUNNING Christian Dior gown. The gown was a pale yellow with subtle ruffles throughout the dress, she kept her makeup extremely natural with curly hair that was pinned to one side with a jeweled clip. The look was so timeless and stunning, it’s one of those looks that she could step out in over 10 years later and look just as gorgeous and timeless which is why she had to make our list of the best.
In 2005 Nicole graced the red carpet wearing a Bottega Veneta gown. This gown was one that felt incredibly modern and up-to-date at the time, but still holds that feeling today. The Bottega Veneta gown was a deep turquoise silk long sleeveless dress, which had a peacock feather detailing creating a one sleeve look. Similar to Charlize, Nicole kept her hair and makeup subtle to really let the dress be the focal point.
In 2009 Olivia came to the Golden Globes donning a gorgeous princess-like gown by Reem Acra. It was a total jaw dropper with insane amounts of detail and in a subtle pinky/purple color. The gown itself didn’t’ need much else between the skirt ruffling type detail, to the belt with jewels, and amazing layering over the bust area. Olivia’s glam squad allowed the dress to do the talking and kept everything else pretty low key, with simple straight hair and natural makeup.
In 2011 a then pregnant Natalie showed up to the Golden Globes wearing a Viktor and Rolf gown. Natalie had to make this list because she was one of the first celebs to truly rock her pregnant body at an awards show. The gown was a gorgeous pink color with a red rose detail at the bust. It was incredibly flattering on her pregnancy body and really highlighted her glowing persona for the occasion.
In 2014, Lupita made a SPLASH on the Golden Globe’s red carpet wearing a Ralph Lauren gown. This gown was simple, but made an incredible lasting impression on the world. It had bold off-the-shoulder silhouette combined with a cape-like detail in a STUNNING red color that truly made her stand out from the crowd. She’s continued to make a splash on red carpets ever since.
