Planning a wedding for fall 2017? If you are then you’re probably in a lot of planning mode right about now, even though we’re in the winter of 2016 wedding certainly take some extra time with the planning aspect of things. Bridal week just occurred not too long ago and there were some great inspiration ideas that walked down the runway of the bridal week shows. Since we know sometimes it can be overwhelming looking for quality sources for inspiration when it comes to your wedding, we thought we would share some bridal week inspiration for fall 2017 weddings to give you a little help.
Off the Shoulder Dress
This is a trend that we’ve seen all over in the streetwear side of fashion, so it was kind of fun to see the transition happening in the bridal world as well. There were quite a few different wedding dresses that had off the shoulder silhouettes. It’s a fun take on the traditional wedding dress, without exposing TOO much on your special day, but just enough to have a little skin exposed.
This was a totally different take for wedding inspiration for weddings, but we kind of love it. Some designers were featuring 3D details on the looks for bridal week. Not sure what we mean here? For example, designer Reem Acra had a look where a 3D butterfly that stuck right to the skin of the model was applied strategically on the neckline of the model. It’s a fun take on an accessory for bridal looks. Other designers incorporated similar details, but the common theme was adding a 3 dimensional element to the detail design.
The Slip Dress Style
You’ve probably noticed the popularity of the slip dresses happening in street wear with a major 90’s vibe to them, so similar to the off the shoulder dresses it was fun to see the bridal world incorporating some street wear details to bridal looks. We saw a number of different bridal dresses that seemed to be inspired by the slip dress detailing, whether it was just the lace at the bodice of the dress with a spaghetti strap, or more of a full slip dress design – slip dresses were a major inspiration for this trend at bridal week this year.
For the ladies that don’t want to go for the traditional wedding dress for their big day, pant suits are no longer the only other option. There were a number of different bridal jumpsuits that we saw walk down the runway shows of bridal week this year. We loved the inspirational take on these jumpsuits as they had all the amazing detail in wedding dresses with beading and such, some even with the addition of a train added to it. We loved this for inspiration, because dresses aren’t the right fit for every bride.
Of course the inspiration really could go on from bridal week this year. There was a great range in different trends and ideas that we saw, and we hope it gives you a bit of inspiration to take with as you plan your fall 2017 wedding.
