Now that the temperatures are rising, we’re all starting to break out our sandals and open toed shoes. It’s always exciting to get to switch up your footwear with the change in seasons. While the excitement is there, most of us can’t ignore the fact that our feet aren’t as pretty as we’d like to go with our favorite sandals. It’s only natural that our feet appear a bit dry and cracked after the dry, cold winter months. One of the best ways to get your feet looking great, and feeling great, is to use a foot peel. Yep, just like we exfoliate and apply masks to our faces we need to do the same to the skin on our feet. We’ve found some peels that will make your feet feel baby soft to get you started!
When you began reading an article about foot peels, you probably didn’t expect to hear about listerine. But stay with us on this one! Many people have found that using listerine in a DIY foot peel to yield great results. All you need to do is make a mixture of listerine, vinegar, and warm water. Once you’ve added the combination, soak your feet for 10-15 minutes. It’s been found that after soaking your feet in this mixture, simply wiping your feet with a cloth will take the dead skin right off with ease.
Using Baking Soda
This DIY foot peel has been found to help with corns, and calluses incredibly simply. All you need to do is combine milk and baking soda into a bowl. Allow your feet to soak in the combination until your feet are soft (at least 10-15 minutes). After you finish, rinse your feet with water and apply a great moisturizing cream.
Another ingredient that may surprise you, but has been found to be incredibly beneficial when combined with a few other ingredients to form a foot peel. It’s suggested to begin the process by soaking your feet in warm water (as warm as you’re comfortable with) for about 10-15 minutes. While your feet are soaking, combine an uncoated aspirin pill and lemon juice from one whole lemon. Combining these two ingredients should result in a paste like substance. Dry your feet after allowing them to soak and get soft, after your feet and dry begin to apply the paste to your feet. When applying the paste you’ll want to primarily focus on the roughest areas of skin. After you’ve applied the paste to all of your foot wrap your feet in plastic wrap-it’s suggested to leave the paste on for at least two hours. After you’ve spent adequate time with the paste, rinse the paste off of your feet and immediately apply a heavy moisturizer to your feet. This particular peel is said to cause your feet to shed the skin over the course of a couple of days, so you’ll want to keep that in mind as you continue through the days following your peel.
