Strategies for Preserving Your Youth

We hate to be the barrier of bad news, but we can’t fight the fact that we’re going to get older. Unfortunately, technology hasn’t allowed us to reverse that–yet! However, just because we can’t actually turn back the clock doesn’t mean we can’t preserve our youth. Seriously! We know you’re like us and you’re always looking for ways to maintain a youthful appearance and glow. So, we thought we would share some of the best strategies for preserving your youth that we’ve found. New season, new youth preserving approach – right?

Get Enough Sleep
Sound simple? Well, ok it may sound like a simple strategy but the truth is most of us aren’t actually getting enough sleep on a consistent basis. We live in a world that’s constantly on the go and it’s pretty difficult to learn to wind down and get to bed at a decent time. Sleep isn’t just important for your energy and mood (let’s face it, we all get a little moody when we’re lacking in the sleep department) but it also plays a huge role in preserving your youth. Ever notice when you haven’t been sleeping well you FEEL a bit older, and your skin begins to look less than amazing? That’s because when we are asleep our bodies work to repair itself. So that old term “beauty sleep” is actually legitimate.

Eat Your Way to a Youthful Appearance
Eating right is definitely a habit that can be difficult to get into, with access to so many different food options that aren’t always the best. But experts have found that the foods we put into our body play a role that doesn’t just impact our weight and body.

While maintaining a healthy diet is crucial to keep your health in check, it also plays a role in preserving your youth. Consuming too many processed foods and sugar have been found to cause signs of aging to occur much sooner because they don’t have the necessary nutrients that your body needs. Switching up your diet to consist of more fresh fruits, veggies and lean proteins is going to help your body get the necessary nutrients it needs to really preserve your youth–both with your appearance and the way you FEEL.

Drink More Water
We’re willing to be we’re not the first ones to tell you that drinking water is important, we’ve all grown up being told that we need to drink water. But truthfully, many of us still aren’t quite getting enough water into our system on a daily basis. Drinking water isn’t just important for the sake of hydration, but it’s also helpful in helping to flush out toxins from the body that can cause the aging process to speed up. Additionally, don’t under estimate the power of staying hydrated especially when it comes to preserving your youth. Want to look more youthful? Hydration is key!

Of course, we can’t forget to mention that limiting your sun exposure and ensuring that you’re protecting your skin from the sun is important to preserving your youth.
