It’s no secret that we all live in this ‘busy’ world now. It seems like we’re all always scattering to the next thing in our schedules with little to no time to actually be present. The rise in social media and technology is said to have a major impact on this, especially since we’re rarely ever ‘off.’ One of the things that seems to slip through the cracks first when we’re overwhelmed is taking the time you need to look and feel good. But it’s something that makes such a major impact on our body confidence and self-esteem, so we really NEED to take the time.
Look, we get it – taking time to plan your outfit and actually do your hair and makeup can sometimes feel like this major task that just isn’t necessary. But when you go out without doing those things for YOU, how do you feel? If you’re like us and the rest of the population, you don’t feel awesome. Universities and scientists have even done studies showing that we don’t truly show up to our ultimate best when we DON’T take the time to do these things in the morning. Not only that, but it’s also been proven that our productivity levels aren’t at their maximum – surprised? Well, if you really think about it, when you just throw on whatever you can find in the morning without really putting something on that makes you look and feel good…you don’t feel as confident as you’d like and odds are it’s a feeling that keeps getting in the way throughout the day.
Here’s the deal, we get that you’re busy, but we also want you to truly take the time YOU need to look and feel good. This doesn’t mean you have to spend hours upon hours getting ready in the morning, either. Many experts suggest one of the best ways to really maximize your time with this is to plan ahead. Odds are when you were growing up your parent(s) told you to plan out your outfit the night before. But for some reason we all let that concept slip to the wayside as we get older. But it has some major validity to it as far as time management goes. Planning your outfit(s) ahead of time allows you to choose something more intentional, something that actually makes you feel good while you wear it rather than whatever’s the quickest to find. If planning the night before doesn’t sound too awesome, how about taking some time during the weekend to plan your outfits for the week. It’s a great way to budget your time so you just use one day to do all the planning. Odds are you’re going to spend LESS time in the mornings and less time overall actually choosing your outfits. In addition, budget your time in the mornings with your hair and makeup routines by having all your necessities easily accessible. It’s a sure fire way to help you get ready quicker, when you know where everything is and you can actually find it!
What do you find works for you by taking the time you need to look and feel good?
