Boots, Fringe, and Denim

Spring is here, and with the start of a new season comes the start of new exciting fashion trends.  There’s something about spring trends after enduring a long winter that gets so many of us excited and ready to start fresh.  This spring season we’re seeing a range of so many fun, unexpected trends.  We’re going to have a ton of options to choose from this season.  But before you get overwhelmed with all the options, let’s chat about three trends that are making waves this spring.

Fringe ankle boots

Probably didn’t expect to read that boots are a trend for SPRING, huh?  Well, they are!  We’re not talking your standard winter boots.  Oh no, these boots are ankle boots.  Again, generally we see these in the fall/winter seasons but they’re making an appearance for spring.  A lot of the boots on the runways were leather or suede and had super fun details like multiple buckles, fringe, and other little touches to them.  These ankle boots are a great way to spice up your typical spring outfit and add a unique twist to your look for the season.

Denim jeans /

Ah, denim.  There’s something so American and classic about it, isn’t there?  Well as classic as it is, designers found a way to make denim feel like new again this season by treating us to oodles of denim in so many different silhouettes and garments you have more than enough to choose from.  Flare leg denim jeans are having a huge moment right now (noticing a 70’s influence?).  Additionally, we’ve got distressed and high-waisted options if you’re still feeling the skinny jean fit.  Let’s not forget about the denim one-pieces and jackets!

Fringe bag

Fringe is literally everywhere this season, and being shown on almost any type of garment you can think of.  As previously mentioned, fringe is a huge detail on shoes right now.  It’s a great way to add a little boho twist to your look.  We’re also seeing a lot of fringe on handbags, skirts, jackets… really you name it there’s something with fringe on it right now.  While we typically think of fringe as a very 70’s inspired look (and it is) this season we’re seeing fringe in a little bit of a different way.  We don’t just have fringe in the standard suede garments but also everything from white and pastel garments to orange leather fringe details.  So you don’t necessarily have to be a boho or Coachella queen to incorporate this fringe trend into your wardrobe.

It’s safe to say there’s a little bit of everything this season, and it’s the little differences in trends that are making everything feel new again.  We all know fashion recycles certain trends and while this season has a strong 70’s and 90’s influence, they feel like we’re experiencing them for the very first time.  If you’re feeling overwhelmed by all the trend options, pick one or two that you’re drawn to most and start figuring out how you want to incorporate them into your spring wardrobe.  And don’t forget to have fun with it!
