We’re always all about keeping things straightforward and easy for you, so we’re sharing how to get great lashes with these curler tips. We promise it doesn’t have to be difficult or frustrating to actually get gorgeous lashes from using an eyelash curler, and you definitely don’t have to be a professional makeup artist!
Heat the Curler
That’s right, we’re talking about heating the actual eyelash curler. You know how when you use a curling iron for your hair it gets hot, which allows you to get a better curled look? Well, why not apply that same idea to your lashes?! The way you can do this is by heating up your eyelash curler with your hair dryer, you don’t need to do if for long just a few seconds to get the curler a bit warm. You won’t want to get it TOO warm as you are putting this near your eye and the curler will likely touch your eyelid.
Quickly Apply Products
Once you’ve gotten your lashes nice and curled, you’re going to want to apply your lash primer or mascara to your lashes as soon as you can. Applying these products to your lashes quickly after curling them will really help to keep the lashes curled and essentially lock the curl in. Since your lashes will be nice and defined on their own, you’re going to want to take your time applying your mascara so you don’t add any clumpiness to them. Do this by using the mascara wand in a way that points the wand straight towards your eye to apply the product to the individual lashes a bit better. In addition, let the mascara dry for a few seconds in between coats.
It’s All About Location
Location, location, location. That rule doesn’t just apply to real estate, we swear! When you’re going about using an eyelash curler you’re going to want to make sure you’re actually curling your lashes at the right location of your lashes. Experts suggest really getting near the base of your lashes with the curler. Once you’re at the base (or as close as you can get), you’re then able to gently squeeze the lashes there to create the curl.
Don’t Rush It
Just like where you squeeze the eyelash curler is important, it’s also important that you’re not just rushing through the process. Most experts suggest actually holding your lashes in the curler for at least 10-15 seconds to truly achieve a flawless curled eyelash look. Holding the curler for a bit of time will really help get more of a hold with the curl on the lashes and create a more defined curl look.
