Doesn’t it seem like models look great whether they’re working and in their modeling setting, and even when they’re off duty? Ok. we get it, they are models, but who’s to say that we can’t all embrace our inner model? We think we all deserve to look and feel like a model, even if we don’t have that title ourselves. While we’re all about embracing our inner off duty model, it can sometimes be confusing on HOW to actually accomplish that. We’re sharing some of the tips we’ve discovered on how to look like an off duty model.
Layer, Layer… and Layer
One of the things that we’ve noticed the most about models and their off duty looks is they’re masters at layering. Layering clothes is one of those traditional off duty model style looks. It’s always a great way to add visual interest to your look, and incorporate things that are different. Like combining something sheer with something harsher like leather. It creates a completely unique look that screams model off duty. Try layering some of your favorite pieces together, that you may not normally – you may be surprised at just how fun and unique they look, which is why it’s such a great way to look like an off duty model!
It’s All About the Outerwear
Ever notice how models in their off duty lives seem to have the most killer jackets? Even if they’re wearing an outfit of basics, throwing on a unique outwear jacket instantly creates that edgy-cool-chic vibe that off duty models continue to master. So why not give it a try yourself? No matter what the season is, look for a fun and unique outerwear layer (vest, lightweight jacket, etc.) to throw on over even the most simple outfit. Even if you’re rocking jeans and a t-shirt, throwing on a fun and unique jacket will surely help you to create your own off duty model look that everyone is going to admire.
Keep it Simple, But Don’t Forget the Shoes and Accessories
One of the other commonalities we noticed with some of our favorite models in their off duty style is that they have a way of making the most simple outfits look incredibly chic. How do they do it? Well, it’s all about the accessories, and shoes. Truly, if you notice the common theme throughout many of your favorite super model’s style they typically keep things in their off duty world pretty simple. Clothes fit them well, but are pretty relaxed and casual – but add in their chic touches with some edgy/street wear inspired shoes and throw on a few key accessories. Accessories are such a great way to add personality and style to any look, so when we think about it – it’s not all that surprising that those are some of their go-to ways to create that admired off duty model style.
