Winter time is a fantastic time of year. When it comes to fashion, there is so much to look forward to. Let’s not forget the cute boots we only get to wear around this time of year! If you have a special event to attend this winter, you may be scrambling to come up with a formal hairstyle that would work for your look. Rest assured there’s plenty of formal winter hairstyles this winter to choose from which will look fantastic and classy all in one.

Knotted Boho Style

The knotted updo with a boho style is just about as adorable as it gets. It’s got style, flair, and is at the beginning of becoming the year’s hottest hair trend for the coming winter. You simply take small sections of your hair starting on the side of your head, about a 4” section of hair each time. You simply tie your hair in repeated knots down the hair shaft, and continue to incorporate more and more hair as you go along. When finished, you secure with a bobby pin and you will have a fantastic style that will last all day long. To give it more of a boho effect, fray some of the hair out and loosen some of the knots to make it appear looser. This style works well for formal or casual wear.

Ballerina Bun

A quick fix in a hurry and always elegant, ballerina buns are stylish and preppy. We love them because they are so easy to do. Simply gather your hair as if you were going to make a pony tail, and then twist the hair around itself into a tight knot on top of your head. Secure with an elastic, and you’ll be good to go!

Curly hairstyles look good any time of year, but wintertime is definitely one of those seasons where the curls are much appreciated because they serve two purposes. For one, they look fantastic even for formal wear – and two, they keep you warm! Either curl your hair with a curling wand or make some big, vibrant curls with your favorite straightener.  Flip your head, spray, and flip again and repeat the hairspray on top. Lucious, voluminous curls like these will last all day long!

Updo with Curls

One of the more elegant forms of hairstyles for the winter months are updos with loads of curls. Try an upside down French twist and add tons of tiny curls to the top. Spray with a good hairspray, and secure the curls with bobby pins. This style is uber classy, easy and beautiful.
